More than 140 years, Akahori Cooking School has seen evolutionising change as we have evolved from execulsive home styled cooking school for Japanese females to everyone who are interested in any types of cuisines  regardless of gender and nationality.

1882
Feburary 11th

Akahori Kappo Kyojo, Japan's first cooking school for home cooking, opened in Nihonbashi.

1902

The first generation invented "kappogi" which is defined as a Japanerse apron  that was easy to cook in and considered to avoid getting stained kimonos.

1925

A new school building was constructed in Omote-cho, Bunkyo-ku.

1961

 「Cooking for Foreigners」and「Cooking for hearing-impaired」started.

1992

Hiromi Akahori firstly worked with TV industry.

The school is accrediated by The Food coordinator associasion in Japan.

1999

2008

Hiromi Akahori inaugurated as a sixth generation principle.

Kappougi was introduced by a magazine [Tennenn Seikatu].
